Unfortunately, there are no refunds on digital products (which includes PDFs).

That’s the universal standard for digital goods because they can’t be returned like physical items (so people could just get the whole thing for free)

I’m an artist + small business owner and I’ve been told over and over “you don’t have to justify your pricing.”

But in the spirit of total transparency (because I’d be curious if it were me)

1. This 350-page interactive book was handmade by me (one human). 

Over 3,000 hours went into concepting, writing, designing, and illustrating the book—plus 400 more hours (so far!) making everything writable, interactive, and easy to navigate digitally without wanting to tear your hair out. I poured my heart and soul into this thing, and every purchase helps support an indie artist. I made a video about it here.

2. My small business has high invisible operational costs—including paying to have fake Anti-Planner listings taken down.

People suck and steal my intellectual property. They sell cheap counterfeits on Amazon, TikTok Shop, Alibaba, Temu, and scam websites. They rip off unknowing victims who didn’t know they weren’t buying from the original artist. I lose a potential customer to a $15 counterfeit listing. My business continues struggling to stay alive.

I did what made sense at the time—hired a service to issue take-down legal notices to get scam listings removed. It’s more expensive than I can afford, but I also can’t afford not to do it. It’s a lose-lose situation.

So anyways, yeah. I've spent ~$100,000 over the last two years having 3,000+ counterfeit listings taken down. Tens of thousands of dollars on trademarks and $550/hr. intellectual property lawyers. My pricing has to keep up enough to cover the massive cost of dealing with tidal wave after tidal wave of knockoff Anti-Planners.

If I don't charge what my products are worth (more on that on answer #6), I literally can't afford to stay in business. You can see an emotionally raw video about it here.

3. The content quality is worth it.

The Anti-Planner book has 4.9 star average rating and thousands of reviews raving that it’s “worth every penny” and “the Bible for procrastinators.” The value of having a tool designed to help you stop procrastinating pays for itself many times over—especially when it means spending less on late fees, delivery, or other “ADHD tax” expenses.

4. This pricing is cheap compared to my other PDFs.

Retail price for Vol. 1+2+3 (90 activity PDFs) is $75, and 180 pages. The full interactive book with everything (250 pages) is $95 retail. So yes, it’s $20 more. But it’s also literally twice as big.

5. This project is helping fund The Anti-Planner app.

I’ve been working on app stuff for years. But the nonstop treadmill of trying to make sure I’m selling enough books to pay operating costs means I don’t have extra cash or time to breathe and dedicate real resources to this project. I’m excited to keep it going and get some extra help so we can make progress faster.

6. If you don't see the value (or can’t swing it right now), that's genuinely okay. 💖

Most people (myself included) are used to low prices due to the saturation of free content online and the cheaply-made mass-produced products. (Most people also aren't being paid enough. But don't let me near that soapbox right now.)

But as an artist whose entire business is down to just me and my husband, I don't have the resources to afford that (right now, at least). So if this product isn’t a good fit for you right now, nbd! (But a digital version is the #1 request I've fielded over the years, and I'm excited to release it.)

Note-taking apps / e-ink devices

You can draw on top of the PDF pages with a stylus. Just be aware the interactive features (buttons, text boxes, checklists, and links) aren’t clickable.

Note: When you receive your digital Anti-Planner, you’ll get one combined PDF of the whole book (350 pages), as well as individual PDFs (1-4 pages). You might want to import the individual activity PDFs instead of the entire file—especially if you’re on a free plan on an app like Goodnotes that limits imported file sizes to 5MB (the book is ~50MB).

Other PDF readers (Preview, Chrome browser)

You might be tempted to use Preview, or Chrome browser, or some other PDF reader (because your system will likely default to it, and having to go manually open something is friction and friction is blehhhh). But please trust me on this! If you open the PDF in another program, it will look like it works fine, but can mess up the file. I've done a shitload of testing and my personal experience and lots-of-Googling research shows that interactive PDFs are annoying and finicky AF. That's just "kind of the way it is."

If you’re running into issues using your interactive PDF, please:

Make sure you’re opening the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (on desktop or the mobile app) and not your device’s default app
